Hello you beautiful human beings. I'm currently packing my bags for my summer vacation which I am so freaking excited for. I am leaving for the Philippines today, a place I've never been to before but always wanted to visit. It has been on my bucket list for such a long time and I'm super grateful to finally get the chance to visit this country. I will be traveling with a friend of mine for almost one month - aaaah! Lots of hiking, surfing and snorkeling ahead! June and July have both been pretty hectic months for me. There's so much going on in my life right now that I find it very hard to take a step back, calm down and truly live in the moment. That is one of the reasons why I started with meditation and so far, I'm really enjoying it. I'm practicing at least twice a week for about 30 to 60 minutes and it has already affected and improved my mental stability a lot. You learn how to refocus, and that is basically one of the most important things to do for your own sake.
I don't get stressed out easily, but life happens to be a bit overwhelming sometimes and if you don't want to get lost in the heat of it all, it's necessary to take care of your mental health. To me, that's the key to a healthy body and a happy life in general. As you guys might know from my instagram, I am THE biggest sucker for inspiring quotes on Pinterest and tumblr. Referring to my mood, I could spend hours reading books or articles about life, love, art, traveling, and many other topics which I'm interested in. So of course I had to incorporate a few into this blogpost.
The pictures were taken by the talented Patrick Mayr, a young photographer based in Munich and Paris. We took these shots a few weeks ago in the center of the city and I really liked how they turned out. I thought the vintage editing looked good on them, but if you want to see more of his work and editing, take a look at his website or instagram account. Unfortunately, I won't be able to publish articles while I'm traveling, but I will definitely share some pictures and experiences of the Philippines on social media until I'm back home in Germany. I am also planning on being active on my second account forloversanddreamers, so make sure to have a look at it if you're not following me already. You will hear from me soon! xx
